I am very happy that Open Doors was turned down. As an alumnus and the great great granddaughter of a former Mars Hill president I was appalled when I heard that Mars Hill was even considering this organization. This organization goes against everything that Mars Hill has ever stood for. We are a Baptist school and this also goes against everything that the Baptist's stand for.
I know that if this group does become an organization that many alumus and retired faculty and staff will withdraw thier support. This includes me. I will no longer be able to say with pride that I graduated from Mars Hill College and that makes me sick. I love Mars Hill and want to continue to support it. SGA, Please continue to turn them down and refuse them the spot that they long for in the Senate. Thanks for allowing me to express my opinion here.
