The Curious Savage is a comedy that affirms the virtues of kindness and affection in a world too often motivated by selfishness, greed, and dishonesty.

The play opens Thursday, February 27 and runs through Sunday, March 2, in Owen Theatre on the Mars Hill College campus.

When Mrs. Ethel Savage's husband died, he left her with $10 Million. She wants to use the money to help people realize their dreams, but her step-children will stop at nothing to get their hands on the money instead. Mrs. Savage hides the money somewhere so that the children can't find it, so they throw her into a sanatorium, hoping that will force her into telling them where she hid the money.

While Mrs Savage is in the sanatorium she ends up meeting people that really do have "problems", but yet they still know the meaning of kindness and caring. This makes Mrs. Savage feel better about the world, and she gets her new friends to help in keeping her step-children from getting to the money.

Come see how Mrs. Savage stays one step ahead of her step-children and their search for her money.

The comedy by John Patrick is directed by Neil St. Clair. The set is designed by Richard Seagle. The stage manager is Freshman Autumn Massey and the assistant stage manager is Sophmore Jason Aycock.

The box office will be open Monday through Friday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Reservations may be made by calling the box office at 689-1239.

The Curious Savage is free to Mars Hill College students on Thursday night (opening night) and Sunday afternoon. The play will be free for the Mars Hill College faculty and staff on Friday night. Ticket prices for the other nights are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students and children.
