Rachel Connor comes from what most people describe as "the middle of nowhere." A country community called Dudley Shoals, just a skip from a small town called Granite Falls, has been her home all her life. A Bonner scholar at Mars Hill, check out her photos and personal biography.
Jordan Elkins is a football player, a proud Madison County resident and sophomore majoring in Sociology.
Shawn Esworthy is majoring in sports management and recreation and wants to be a sports writer or broadcaster.
Laura Hudgins loves to take pictures. She is a Stateville High grad, where last year she was voted "Most Changed" by her senior class.
"DP" Peterson is inclined to be the center of attention and does so by being an athlete at Mars Hill, playing football. He plans on becoming a sports broadcaster or a columnist.
Bria Smith is also interested in sports reporting. She wrote many sports stories for The Hilltop last fall. She also worked for the WNBA last summer in Atlanta.
Megan Trasport worked to get an associate's degree while still in high school. Now a junior at Mars Hill, she is a Bonner scholar and is thinking about a double major in biology and sociology. She may pursue a career in photojournalism.
Karmeece Watson is a first-year student at Mars Hill College and is a theater major. In her spare time, she likes to listen to music, write and spend time with friends.
Paul Annas was a Hilltop staff writer in 2007-08 and will contribute infrequently this spring.
Yonatan Arnold and Joshua Doby, also former Hilltop writers, will be contributing this semester.
